I Speak Shannon
Since she started speaking, my daughter, Shannon, has sometimes had her own way of saying things. Sometimes an incorrectly pronounced word, an incorrectly emphasized word or sometimes a word she made up totally on her own! This blog is about those words and phrases and I encourage any of you who know Shannon to also add anything that comes to mind or just ask question if you don't understand something that she's said, because, for the last 21 years, I've been able TO SPEAK SHANNON!

Dude Mom
Yes, that is the name Shannon gave me...Dude Mom! I'll never forget it. I was picking her up from school when she was in 5th grade and she was really excited to tell me something (I don't remember what). She got in the car and excitedly blurted out "Dude Mom, you won't believe what happened today!!" I stopped for a second, looked at her and asked "Did you just call me Dude Mom?" We both started cracking up and the name stuck. So, yes, she still occasionally calls me Dude Mom. My question is, when she has kids, am I going to be Dude Grandma?
